Joris holds an MA degree in Economic Sciences and has ample experience in business strategy development and -implementation. He co-founded Real NewEnergy in 2010 and is currently working on the Climate Action Plan for Washington DC and the development of a Test and Certification Center for Offshore Wind Turbines on the US East Coast.

From 2004 until 2008, Joris established and managed the Italian activities for Ecofys and Ecostream (Solar Energy Systems Integrator) based in Turin. By early 2008 he had transferred a 30 man team with a profitable and growing 10 million euro per year business to his Italian successors, and had prepared the ground for large scale solar and wind project development activities for Econcern.

Joris joined Ecofys in 2002 after successfully managing a number of new energy business initiatives, including a position as venture development manager within the Nuon energy group. Previously, he worked for 4 years as a management consultant for both Oracle and Rost & Co.

Joris started his career in 1991 at leading Dutch utility Nuon where he was responsible for new product development initiatives in the field of clean mobility as well as for the company’s energy pricing strategies. His heartfelt interest lies very much in the field of energy and sustainability.
