Brendan Williams is Vice President of Advocacy at AFPM, the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (formerly NPRA, the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association). He is responsible for leading AFPM’s government relations and communications departments as they work to educate the media, Congress, the Administration, other stakeholder groups, as well as the general public about the important role AFPM members and products play in daily life and the American economy. Mr. Williams also staffs the association’s chief policy development committee, which provides direct input to AFPM’s Executive Committee. He has been with the Association since 2007.

Before joining AFPM, Mr. Williams spent over seven years on Capitol Hill most recently as Legislative Director to Congressman Vito Fossella where he specialized in energy and environment policy. Prior to working for Congressman Fossella, Mr Williams spent three years as a staff member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee. He dealt with a diverse portfolio of issues for the Committee, focusing on energy and environment legislation, but also handling health, commerce, trade and consumer protection policy, as well as oversight and investigations work.

Mr. Williams attended Syracuse University where he received a dual degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. He also received an MBA from George Mason University.
