Description (excerpt):
Companies and communities increasingly grasp the risks and opportunities posed by climate change. CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) has served as a driving force behind greater transparency in climate change reporting, developing multiple questionnaires that offer companies and cities an opportunity to track,
publicly disclose, and actively work to reduce climate change impacts, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, water use, waste production, and forest impacts.
The six essential strategies outlined in this paper can help companies improve their CDP disclosure and performance scores for the CDP Climate Change Information Request and receive the credit they deserve: completing comprehensive responses in the Risks and Opportunities sections, receiving third-party emissions verification, engaging supply chains, determining a representative baseline, developing measurable reduction targets, and involving senior leadership and employees.
