Description (excerpt):

This report offers a summary of utility studies that examine DOE’s Smart Grid Investment Grant program (SGIG). SGIG is a project to assess the response of mass market consumers to time-varying electricity prices in conjunction with the deployment of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). This report leverages the data from the individual studies to conduct comparative analysis of the impacts of AMI, time-based rate programs and enabling technologies that facilitate customer control, automation and information/feedback on customer energy usage.
