Jeroen Struben is an Assistant Professor in the Strategy & Organization Area at the Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University. Jeroen is also research affiliate in MIT’s Sloan School of Management, co-leading a project on alternative energy and transportation transitions. Jeroen received a doctorate in management from the Sloan school and a graduate degree in physics from Delft University of Technology. His research focuses on the coevolution of social, economic and material processes of industry transformation. Empirically Jeroen studies energy, alternative fuel vehicles and healthy living markets. Drawing upon empirical cases (successful and failed introductions), combined with dynamic modeling and system dynamics methodology, his research produces insights related to coordination and commitment across organizations, industries, and governments. His research has brought Jeroen inside various organizations in fields ranging from automotive (Ford, GM, SAIC Shanghai), to energy (Shell, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, US DOE, Johnson Controls China), and to fisheries (NOAA, GCDC).
