Ranjit is a PhD candidate at the Energy and Resources Group at the University of California, Berkeley where he holds the Link Foundation fellowship. His research efforts largely focus on addressing the clean energy and energy access challenges in developing nations. As part of both the International Energy Studies group at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the Energy and Resources Group, he analyzes policies and technical solutions for integrating large amounts of wind and solar resources on the grid, especially in developing countries like India and in Africa. He is also engaged with energy access issues, especially regarding renewable energy-based mini-grid policies and development of microhydro mini-grids in developing countries. Ranjit holds masters degrees from Humboldt State University and University of Texas at Austin, and a mechanical engineering bachelors from College of Engineering Pune, India.
