William J. Hausman is Chancellor Professor of Economics at the College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia. He is founding editor (2000-04) of Enterprise & Society: The International Journal of Business History and a past President of the Business History Conference. He has written extensively on the history of energy policy, utility regulation, and global electrification. He recently co-edited, with Günther Schulz and Mathias Schmoeckel, Regulation between Legal Norms and Economic Reality: Intentions, Effect, and Adaptation: The German and American Experiences, Tübingen: Mohr Siebeck, 2014.
