Elisabeth Graffy is Professor of Practice at Arizona State University as well as Co-Director of Energy Policy, Law and Governance for ASU-LightWorks, and Senior Sustainability Scientist at the Global Institute of Sustainability. In the energy field, she focuses on factors driving transitions toward new energy systems, energy politics, technology development and social innovation, and intersections between energy governance and wider legal and political systems.

Prior to academia, Elisa served for two decades in national policy posts in the U.S. Congress and the Department of the Interior. She has also worked in municipal, state and the non-governmental organizations both in the U.S. and internationally. She holds degrees from Princeton University in Politics and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Agricultural Economics and Land Resources.
