Areas of Expertise:
Natural GasZach grew up in Nome, Alaska, an area that has always struggled with affordable energy. He started his career working in a variety of roles for Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), including covering environmental policy. He later attended law school at George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia. During school, he worked on regulatory procedure and public land matters while interning for a judge on the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and later for the Office of the Solicitor for the U.S. Department of the Interior. As the shale gas boom took hold over the last few years, Zach has had the opportunity to lobby for increased natural gas production, trade, and utilization. After law school, Zach worked for two years as a lobbyist at the Podesta Group, and he now works as an associate attorney at an Alaska-based law firm. He also runs Natural Gas 102, a blog and podcast that covers natural gas policy.
