Dave Williams combines energy technology and finance skills with a passion for transformative resilient energy access. Mr. Williams currently serves as Senior Fellow with the US State Department’s Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas, project finance advisor for Thrive Networks, and strategic initiatives mentor for DNV-GL. Mr. Williams has been involved in developing renewable energy projects in the Caribbean, Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa. He began off-grid energy work with a 2002 Haiti mini-grid project for Engineers Without Borders. He founded and led a solar developer in Tanzania focused on off-grid solar lighting markets as a winner of an International Finance Corporation (IFC) grant in 2007. Mr. Williams was selected as one of Time Magazine's Innovators of the Year for work on refrigeration in emerging markers. Mr. Williams has been a merit reviewer for the US Department of Energy's SunShot program, technical reviewer for Sandia National Laboratory, advisor for Private Finance Advisory Network for Asia, and contributor to National Renewable Energy Laboratory initiatives. He has a background in project management at Shell Oil and Procter & Gamble. He has written several technical and commercial papers. Mr. Williams has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
