Charles was a Program Manager for OurEnergyPolicy.org (OEP) from 2015 - 2018. He was responsible for monitoring legislative and regulatory developments as well as judicial decisions at both the state and federal levels impacting the electric power sector. As part of his duties, Charles developed industry partnerships, facilitates online discussions with energy sector experts, and performs outreach to media.
Charles started in the energy industry with a small landfill gas-to-energy developer in the mid-Atlantic region. While in law school, he worked for the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Energy, Installations and Environment gaining insight into the development of clean energy projects on federal facilities. He was also a member of the Army’s Energy Initiatives Task Force (now the Office of Energy Initiatives).
Charles received his law degree from Widener University and a B.A. in Economics from Susquehanna University. Charles is licensed to practice law in Virginia. He is an active member of the Virginia State Bar.
