Jared works independently as an energy analyst, journalist and consultant. He recently worked as a Senior Adviser to the Rapidan Group, an energy consultancy, prior to which he helped launch a new energy media and conference business called Smart Energy Decisions as the firm's founding Content Director. Smart Energy Decisions is dedicated to providing actionable information to energy managers at commercial and industrial businesses. rnrnJared was Managing Editor at Breaking Energy -- a leading online energy news and analysis hub. Representing the entire energy spectrum from renewables to oil & gas, Breaking Energy provides access to news, thought leadership, discussion, deep social media networks and event listings.

Jared previously analyzed international oil and natural gas market fundamentals and geopolitics as a Senior Analyst on Energy Intelligence's Research team. He paid particularly close attention to unconventional oil and natural gas developments in the North American market. Jared managed client relationships, led EIR's extensive data service and regularly contributed to the company's suite of oil and gas publications.

Jared received his Master's degree in international relations with a focus on energy from New York University prior to joining Energy Intelligence. Earlier in his career, Jared spent several years working in the environmental consulting industry and holds an Environmental Studies degree from the University of Oregon.
