Enterprises(www.welcomeenterprisesinc.com) and, until July 2014, the publisher of Welcome Books, an imprint of Welcome Enterprises Inc. She began her career in 1967 at Harry N. Abrams, leaving there in 1980 as their first female vice president (Marketing and Special Sales) to co-found Stewart, Tabori & Chang, where she remained until 1982 when she co-founded the book packager, Welcome Enterprises, Inc. rnrnIn 1991, Lena moved to San Francisco to become president and publisher of Collins Publishers San Francisco. In 1993, she returned to Stewart, Tabori & Chang as their president and publisher, building it into one of the most significant illustrated book publishers in the United States. Selling it in 1997, Lena returned to Welcome full-time where she and her partner Clark Wakabayashi created Welcome Books® as their official publishing imprint. In 2014 she arranged for its sale to Rizzoli International Publications. Welcome Enterprises Inc. continues to package books for others.rnrnIn 2017 she co-founded ClimateChangeResources.org, a website aggregating trustworthy information on global warming to inform and create routes for action. She sits on numerous boards including The Association of Foreign Press Correspondents and the East Hampton Town Energy Sustainability Committee. rn
