The Interconnect Guide for Emerging Fuels into Energy Delivery Systems – Introduction of RNG and HENG is now available marking completion of nearly a 12-month effort to incorporate lessons learned through industry-wide experience in use of the prior version (RNG Interconnect Guide) published in 2019 as guidance to encourage broader acceptance of RNG into pipeline networks.

The Northeast Gas Association (NGA) assembled an industry-wide working group of SMEs from across the country to share experiences and lessoned learned with use of the initial publication. The Work Group consisted of a broad spectrum of stakeholders including GTI Energy, RNG Coalition, Pipeline Operators, and others.

While most industry users found the original Guide extremely helpful in understanding considerations leading to successful interconnects, advances in technology and policy considerations as well as the desire to incorporate considerations to address hydrogen enriched natural gas integration (HENG) resulted in the need to update the Guideline.
