CSIS – From Glasgow to Net-Zero: A Conversation with Fatih Birol

The CSIS Energy Security & Climate Change Program is pleased to host Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, for a discussion on the future of global energy security and decarbonization.

After COP26 in Glasgow, more countries around the world have targets for reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, to reduce the risks of climate change. For decades to come, ensuring a transition to a net-zero economy that is efficient, affordable, and secure will be a priority for governments. To inform their efforts, the International Energy Agency provides leading analysis and insights into the global energy system at this critical moment.

This discussion with Dr. Birol will be moderated by Joseph Majkut, Director of the Energy Security and Climate Change Program at CSIS. John Hess, CEO of the Hess Corporation and a trustee of CSIS, will provide a welcome and introduction.
