EFI – The Role of U.S. Natural Gas Exports in a Low-Carbon World

The Russian invasion of Ukraine and COVID-19 pandemic have severely disrupted global energy markets and underscored the importance of energy solutions that collectively address energy security needs and decarbonization goals. Natural gas can help countries around the world meet both of these goals. The United States, as the world’s biggest natural gas exporter, plays an important role at the global stage.

In January, EFI convened a private workshop—“The Role of U.S. Natural Gas Exports in a Low-Carbon World”—with a range of leaders from industry, domestic and international governments, NGOs, finance, higher education, and consultancies.

In this April event, we’re releasing a summary report of the critical issues discussed during the workshop. We’ll share our takeaways for decision-makers on the crucial role of U.S. natural gas for domestic and international energy security and climate goals.
