REBA: How Companies can Work to Decarbonize Steel in the Renewable Energy Industry
Steel is the world’s most widely used material, one of the biggest emitters of CO2 globally, and can account for up to 50% of a renewable energy producer’s supply chain emissions. SteelZero, a partnership of the Climate Group and ResponsibleSteel, is a global initiative to harness and amplify leading businesses’ commitment to procure or specify low carbon steel – sending a strong co-ordinated demand signal to accelerate the transition to a responsible, net-zero steel industry, faster. The initiative has recently launched a working group focused on steel in the renewable energy industry, as the sector has a crucial role to play in mobilizing momentum.
Join the REBA Institute’s Decarbonizing Industrial Supply Chains Energy (DISC-e) program and hear from SteelZero, United States Steel and Orsted to learn more about how companies can work to decarbonize the steel industry using collective action from demand side voices.
