How Policy Can Accelerate EV Adoption in the US
Policymakers and those involved in accelerating the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) are encouraged to register for RMI’s upcoming webinar, “How Policy Can Accelerate EV Adoption in the US” on Tuesday, July 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Mountain Time.
Rob Pick, an associate partner in Bain & Company’s Energy and Natural Resources practice, will offer his analysis on challenges in the value chain; and RMI’s Leia Guccione, managing director of RMI’s US Program will detail how policy can help address these challenges. Attendees will learn how the Environmental Protection Agency’s newly proposed tailpipe emissions rules and existing legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act are expected to accelerate EV adoption. They’ll also gain background knowledge, data, and analysis they need to develop informed and effective policy.
The webinar comes as the world of transportation finds itself at an inflection point: as EV adoption continues to grow, so do concerns about how to shift infrastructure and supply chains to support increasing demand. This unease makes sense, as today’s EV charging infrastructure and its battery supply chain are not strong enough to meet the needs of today and tomorrow’s personal and commercial EVs.
Many of the challenges we face can be overcome with robust policy that modernizes the electric grid; makes EV charging accessible, equitable, and affordable; and promotes the development of a circular battery economy, one in which batteries are recycled or repurposed.
The speakers will outline how current policies are accelerating EV adoption and discuss what policymakers should consider when crafting new policy to help decarbonize transportation.
As demand for EVs continues to grow, policymakers know they need to strengthen EV battery supply chains and EV charging infrastructure. In this webinar co-hosted by RMI and Bain & Company, attendees will learn how to create robust policy that modernizes the electric grid; makes EV charging accessible, equitable, and affordable; and promotes the development of a circular battery economy.
