Innovative Grid Deployment Pathways to Commercial Liftoff Sneak Peak

Join distinguished leaders from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for a webinar on December 12 from 1:30 – 2:30pm ET. This session will delve into early insights from the forthcoming Innovative Grid Deployment Pathways to Commercial Liftoff report, including four priority technologies identified for greater near-term deployment. This new Liftoff Report will explore strategies to accelerate deployment of innovative, but commercially available grid technologies, which are crucial for bolstering grid reliability, resilience, and efficiency. The full report is set for release in early 2024.

Through the Innovative Grid Deployment Pathways to Commercial Liftoff report, the DOE aims to align public and private sector grid stakeholders via a shared fact base to inform both public and private sector investments, including upcoming DOE funding opportunities. It will highlight the roadmap and timelines for scaling up pivotal technologies essential for enhancing grid infrastructure and sustainability. The integration of these technologies will be instrumental in achieving a net-zero economy by boosting grid reliability and reducing dependence on non-renewable sources.

The Pathways to Commercial Liftoff Reports are the product of comprehensive stakeholder engagement, combining system-level modeling with project-level financial analysis. These reports offer valuable insights, identifying key themes and interactions among various grid technologies. While they do not represent official DOE policy or strategic plans, they serve as crucial resources for decision-makers in the energy sector, investors, and a broader range of stakeholders.

Note: The Department will not address questions about the Liftoff Reports, active or upcoming funding opportunities during the webinar. For inquiries related to funding opportunity announcements, please direct them to the designated email address provided with each announcement. Feedback regarding the Reports is welcomed at
