Multi-State Transportation Electrification Impact Study: Preparing the Grid for Light-, Medium-, and Heavy-Duty Electric Vehicles

The U.S. Department of Energy will share findings from a new multi-state analysis report to guide electric distribution grid planning for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

The webinar will cover:
• Projections for growth in light, medium, and heavy-duty electric vehicles and their associated charging infrastructure through 2032
• Forecasting utility distribution grid expansion planning at the parcel level in California, Illinois, New York, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania
• Valuing grid integration measures, including strategic charger placements, charge shifting, and local optimization to reduce peak loading and to defer upgrades of substations, feeders, and service transformers
• Net consumer benefits from investing in transportation electrification
• Lessons learned for fleets, developers, utilities, and state regulators
