Ocean Renewables Summit
The inaugural Ocean Renewables Summit at IPF brings together the offshore wind industry and providers of other ocean-based energy technologies such as wave, tidal, offshore solar, and more. As U.S. power demand continues to surge at historic rates, ocean renewables represent a significant untapped resource with the potential to transform the global energy market:
– The U.S. has an estimated 5,200 TWh/year of theoretical ocean-based energy resources (wave, tidal, ocean current, and ocean thermal)—more than the nation’s annual electricity consumption.
– The technical resource potential is 2,300 TWh/year, enough to supply 54.6% of U.S. electricity needs and power over 210 million homes annually.
– Hybrid offshore projects unlock even greater capacity—for each offshore wind project, adding offshore solar and wave energy could increase total capacity by 50% in solar and 50% in wave energy.
At the Ocean Renewables Summit, attendees will learn about these emerging technologies, meet potential supply chain partners, and gain exclusive day-of-summit access to the IPF Exhibit Hall.
The Ocean Renewables Summit is included with IPF registration, but attendees must select the event when registering. Individual Ocean Renewables Summit tickets are also available for non-IPF attendees.
With a vast, largely untapped resource base and growing momentum, the Ocean Renewables Summit will serve as a critical platform for learning, networking, and relationship building for companies both in the offshore wind and ocean renewables industry.
