Virtual Power Plants: Insights, Profiles and Inventory

Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) are a distributed, technology-neutral solution that can effectively address critical grid and customer needs, such as reducing peak demand and lowering energy bills. They are poised for rapid growth; however, a variety of challenges are slowing the rate at which VPPs are adopted and expanded. Authors of “Insights into Scaling Virtual Power Plants” and “Virtual Power Plant Profiles and Inventory” will discuss findings from both reports, including actions that utilities and regulators can take to rapidly expand VPPs deployment, and provide an overview of the new Virtual Power Plant Inventory.
