Wide Area Blackout Prevention Using Advanced Models

As discussed in the Power Perspectives Podcast episode #154 Imagining the Next Generation Energy Grid, the electric energy grid of today continues to grow and change, and grid models must be updated to reflect these changes. Updated models will provide electric utility teams with a better understanding of fault recovery, electric vehicle charging and distributed energy resource availability.

Join Tony Sleva, industry expert and President of Prescient Transmission Systems, to learn about the rationale for improved models. This presentation will provide insights into advanced model criteria, such as ambient conditions, time of day, fault duration, outage duration, electric vehicles, and distributed energy considerations. Attendees will learn about the application of new models, especially fault recovery models.
