The race towards Net-Zero or Carbon Neutrality by 2050 is underway. Many corporations are now seeking to connect and integrate specific United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their energy procurement decisions. They are rethinking what makes a project the “best” project to account for avoided emissions, social & environment justice, supply chain sourcing, and local impact. Additionally, most off-takers to date have tackled scope 2 emissions (purchased electricity and heat) via PPAs/ VPPAs. Yet scope 3 emissions (generated by suppliers and customers) constitute the largest source of corporate’s emissions, which will be their next challenge to tackle. Register here.
