Energy reform is one of three areas – along with acquisition reform and unmanned systems – where I have focused and will continue to focus my attention during my tenure as Secretary of the Navy. Changing the way we do business, looking to an energy-secure Navy and Marine Corps of the future, and leading the federal government in energy initiatives is what we must do. Energy reform is a strategic imperative.
