The six nuclear facilities and Exelon’s headquarters have been an integral part of the region’s clean energy portfolio and economic fabric since the 1970s. To quantify the employment and economic impact of these facilities, the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) conducted an independent analysis. Based on data provided by Exelon Nuclear on employment, operating expenditures, revenues and tax payments, NEI conducted the analysis using a nationally recognized model to estimate the facilities’ economic impacts on the Illinois economy.
