Nuclear Energy and Environmental speaker and author Dr. James Conca is Senior Scientist for UFA Ventures, Inc. in the Tri-Cities, Washington and a Science Contributor to Forbes on energy and nuclear issues. Conca combines the passion of activism with a 30-year career as a research scientist to create a new dynamic for discussing complex topics like energy and its effects on society and the planet.
Over the last 30 years, Conca has been Director of the Center for Laboratory Sciences at Columbia Basin College, Director of the New Mexico State University Environmental Monitoring and Research Center, Team Leader at Los Alamos National Laboratory, faculty at Washington State University, a scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Coordinator of Shuttle Activities over the Poles at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Conca obtained a Ph.D. in Geochemistry from the California Institute of Technology (1985), MS in Planetary Science (1981), and BS in Geology/Biology from Brown University (1979).
