This study estimates the capability of the U.S. to absorb incremental light tight oil (LTO) production. It considered the potential to absorb incremental LTO by each of the following mechanisms: Full utilization of existing U.S. refinery light ends handling capacity, displacement of crude oil imports into the U.S, and Capacity Expansions.
