Alex Trembath is a policy analyst with the Energy & Climate Program at the Breakthrough Institute, a public policy think tank in Oakland, CA. He is the lead or co-author of several Breakthrough reports, including "Beyond Boom and Bust: Putting Clean Tech on a Path to Subsidy Independence," "Where the Shale Gas Revolution Came From," and "Coal Killer: How Natural Gas Fuels the Clean Energy Revolution." His writing and research appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Boston Globe, Bloomberg, Politico, and President Obama's 2012 State of the Union address. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and a native of South Bend, Indiana.
