Hassan Ghoudjehbaklou received B.Sc. in Mathematics, M.Sc. is in Information and Computer Science, M.Sc. and Ph.D. is Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. He joined Harris Corporation (Melbourne, Florida) as a Lead Engineer in Controls Division group, working on Security Constrained Dispatch (SCD) and Optimal Power Flow (OPF). Then he joined academia, teaching, researching, and supervising Graduate and Ph.D. students in modeling, simulation and computer applications in many areas of power systems for more than a decade. He spent his sabbatical leaves working on modeling the non-linear behavior of arc-furnace loads and Application of Artificial Intelligence and Expert Systems in Voltage Stability with University Toronto, Ontario Hydro, University of Calgary, Canada. Later he joined, Open Systems International Inc. (OSI Minneapolis), a very well-known US-based EMS/SCADA developer/vendor company. He was the Team Lead, Manager of Development and Principal Consultant of the Power Systems group for many years. Dr. Ghoudjehbaklou has joined San Diego Gas & Electric in 2010. He is currently working with the Generation Interconnection group as a Principal Engineer. He is expert in Power systems modeling and engineering studies under steady states and dynamic conditions, which includes renewable resources and storage devices. Dr. Ghoudjehbaklou is a member of several WECC committees which are involved in Reliability Standards, Dynamic modeling, Renewable Generation, and Synchro-phasors. Dr. Ghoudjehbaklou is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California.
