Columbia Center on Global Energy Policy – Exploring an Uncertain Energy Future: Equinor Energy Perspectives 2021
As we prepare for the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, additional focus is being placed on how the world will recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. As the world begins to show the first signs of recovery, the scope and direction of that recovery has been brought into the spotlight. The decisions we make now will have profound effects on the future of economies, societies, and the global energy landscape.
The Center on Global Energy Policy will host Eirik Wærness, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist at Equinor, to share insights from Equinor’s Energy Perspectives 2021, which presents three different scenarios for the future energy system. These scenarios highlight the potential impacts of the global recovery on our future energy systems. Following his presentation, Eirik will join a panel of experts for further discussion on the implications of this study’s findings, which elements drive the most uncertainty and what impact the upcoming COP might have on these future scenarios.
