In this final special addendum to Smart Energy Decisions’ State of Decarbonization Report, “A Closer Look at the Commercial Sector” dives deeper into survey results from representatives of these operators.
While this sector faces the same challenges as its peers in the industrial, institutional, and government sectors, commercial organizations are less advanced in setting emissions reduction goals and are also more likely to face outside scrutiny by shareholders in cases where companies are public. When compared to other sectors, commercial organizations could benefit more than the others from support to facilitate decarbonization planning, though overall, challenges and solutions are often similar among all sectors.
